Term 3 Week 2- String Patchwork

I plan to do a lot more for String Patchwork but here was a first experiment:

 

 I think the colour choices were a bit safe. I'd also like more contrast, accuracy and a playful composition... this was a bit traditional in appearance for my taste but I was happy with it for a first try. I'd like to play more with stripes too.

The centre block was constructed of four squares- each cut from one piece of string patchwork on the bias. Maybe next time I use pieces cut on the bias I'll use a base.
